A Career Built on Precision and Innovation

Reyburn’s journey began with formal training at ESMOD International Paris, a prestigious fashion school known for its rigorous curriculum. This foundation prepared him for a career that spans multiple roles in the apparel industry. He has worked with well-known companies such as Columbia Sportswear, lululemon, Filson, and Nike. Each position allowed him to refine his skills in pattern making, prototyping, and fit engineering.


At Columbia Sportswear, Reyburn focused on apparel fit engineering, ensuring garments met high standards of comfort and style. His role at lululemon as Prototyping Manager involved leading teams and managing projects that pushed the boundaries of garment engineering. At Filson, he specialized in men’s jackets, while at Nike, he led a team of sew technicians in the prototype center, overseeing sample production.


Mastering 3D Apparel Development

One of Reyburn’s standout skills is his expertise in 3D apparel development. This technology allows designers and engineers to visualize and adjust garments digitally before physical samples are made. It reduces errors, saves time, and improves the overall quality of the final product. Reyburn’s ability to integrate 3D CAD tools with traditional pattern making techniques gives him an edge in creating precise, custom-fit apparel.


His work goes beyond just making patterns. Reyburn is involved in pre-development stages, construction management, and product management. This holistic approach ensures that every garment meets design intent and functional requirements.


Teaching the Next Generation

Since 2009, Reyburn has shared his knowledge as a Pattern Making Instructor at The Reyburn School. He teaches both fashion students and experienced professionals the fundamentals of custom-fit pattern making. His classes cover drafting, fitting techniques, fit corrections, and muslin making. This role highlights his commitment to preserving craftsmanship while embracing new technologies.
